Referring to Ninh Binh, many people will immediately think of famous tourist destinations such as Trang An, the ancient capital Hoa Lu or Tam Coc Bich Dong ... Along with the famous tourist attractions above, when coming to Ninh Binh visitors also discover the unique "stork island" in this ancient land.

Speaking of "stork island" in Ninh Binh, perhaps first to mention the Thung Nham Bird Park Resort (also known as Thung Chim) in Ninh Hai commune, Hoa Lu district, Ninh Binh province. It is located in the core area of the famous Trang An scenic complex and is very close to Tam Coc Bich Dong Tourist Area, fully converging cultural, spiritual as well as biodiversity landscape.

The entire Thung Nham Bird Park Resort is surrounded by strips of rainforest on the limestone mountains, with many caves and valleys mingled with nature, plants and flowers.

Especially, when coming here, visitors will discover the lives of nearly 40 species of birds with the number up to 50,000. Every sunset, every flock of white storks flying all over the wetland, creating a wild pristine beauty that is hard to get anywhere.

Next is the "stork island" in Van Long wetland conservation, Gia Vien district, Ninh Binh. This is the largest wetland in the Northern Delta. Van Long Lagoon is surrounded by limestone mountain system with beautiful caves, typical vegetation of limestone mountain ecosystem. The wetland is wide and flat, like a giant mirror on the big bottom.

At this nature reserve, there are currently over 450 species of higher plants (8 species listed in the Vietnam Red Data Book); 39 species of animals (there are 12 rare and precious species). Tourists come here, sit on the nan boats, they are released into the nature of the river, in addition to discovering the "stork island" with thousands of flying, white beans an entire region. .

In addition to two unique and famous "storks", in Ninh Binh there is a third "stork island" which is equally unique, which is a 2 hectare garden of Mr. Ha Van Lam and Ms. Nguyen Thi Luyen ( residing in Gia Lac commune, Gia Vien district, Ninh Binh). For many years, the couple paid their own money to bid for a land area of more than 2 hectares to plant trees, to house storks for thousands of them.

For many years, every day, Mr. Lam and his wife worked hard to protect the herds so that they would not be hunted. Every afternoon at Gia Lac dike area, thousands of storks flew skyward to park on the garden under the management of Mr. Lam and his wife. This place is currently one of the ecotourism destinations that attracts a large number of tourists to visit.
